A Decent Life

Rating: TBD

A decent life is a new approach to finding a base for morality that helps govern day to day life, while being reasonable about expectations of altruism.

Goodbye Things

8/10 - Recommend

Fumio Sasaki writes about his journey from being an maximalist to a minimalist. He poetically talks about the freeing aspects of letting go of physical possessions and cherishing only the essentials. I read this in preparation for 2025 and I don’t think I am at the place to immediately become a minimalist, but this provided me with a good exercise of simplifying my life to a point that I felt like I was being more intentional with what I am bringing to 2025.

Crying in H-Mart

9/10 - Highly Recommend

A beautiful lens into the way we battle greiff, loss, and unmet expectations. I particularly loved the poetic nature of the prose and the beautiful depiction of Korean cuisine as a vehicle for conveying emotion, ideas, and place.
